How to become an IFA member
You can become a member of the British Branch of IFA either by applying online or by printing off, completing and returning a membership application form.

How to renew your IFA membership
If you are an existing IFA member, your membership will fall due for renewal at the beginning of each calender year.
There are two types of membership, individual and corporate.
Individual membership: if you are an individual member, you are an IFA member in your own right. You will receive notice of our meetings and you will be entitled to register for and to attend any of our branch meetings or joint meetings (subject to payment of a fee in the case of joint meetings). You will retain your IFA membership even if you change your employment or firm. You should however, notify us of any change of contact details so that we can continue to send you details of our meetings.
Corporate membership: in the case of a corporate membership, the organisation in question is the IFA member. The corporate member should nominate 2 individuals as its IFA representatives. Those representatives will receive notices of our meetings and will be entitled to register for and to attend any of our branch meetings or joint meetings (subject to payment of a fee in the case of joint meetings). If the nominated representatives are unable to attend any branch meeting or joint meeting, they may register 2 other individuals from the corporate member to attend in their place. If either of the nominated representatives ceases to be a member or employee of the corporate IFA member, the corporate member should nominate a new representative to replace that individual.
The annual subscription is payable at the beginning of each calendar year. The levels of the subscriptions for the calendar year 2017 are as follows:
Individual IFA member: £115
Corporate IFA member: £305
If you become a member of the British Branch of the IFA after the annual international IFA congress in any year, you will pay a reduced level of subscription for the remaining part of that first year of membership.
Cancellation of membership
In the case of existing IFA members, membership is automatically renewed (and the annual subscription falls due) at the beginning of each calendar year unless notice of cancellation is received.
If you wish to cancel your IFA membership, you are required to give written notice of cancellation to the Treasurer not later than 28 February of the relevant year. Click here for the relevant contact details.
Such notice of cancellation is necessary so that the British Branch may in turn notify Central IFA of any cancellations of membership by the end of February, Failing that, Central IFA will consider that your IFA subscription for the year in question remains due.
Other benefits of membership
Individual IFA members and the nominated representatives of corporate IFA members have access to the Members’ Section of the British Branch website, which contains a substantial amount of technical material from previous branch meetings and joint meetings.
Individual IFA members and the nominated representatives of corporate IFA members are to entitled to attend the annual international IFA congress (subject to paying the applicable registration fee). They are also entitled to receive the “Cahiers de Droit Fiscal International” relating to the main subjects discussed at each international congress free of charge. Individual IFA members and the nominated representatives of corporate IFA members also have access to the Members’ Section of the Central IFA website, which contains copies the “Cahiers de Droit Fiscal International” relating to the main subjects discussed at previous international IFA congresses.
